EZ24x7 Help & Instant Hint Messages
Every screen has a question mark, "?", icon that gives you a quick hint of what to do next.
The [F1] key provides context sensitive tutorial help.
Use the "Help" menu from EZ24x7’s main window for more extensive help resources.
Mail Piece Designer
From the EZ24x7 main window “Mail-pieces” tab, right click on the “Select Label” name to open the designer.
There are two groups of envelope and label definitions. Definitions EZ24x7 provide are found in “C:\AES\cfg\ezlab.ini” and definitions you create are saved in “C:\AES\cfg\mylab.ini”.
You are allowed to make modifications to either group, but saving changes to standard definitions requires saving the label as a custom definition.
Custom definitions always begin with “My ” and appear in order of creation at the bottom of the “Select Label” drop-down list-box.
How to Delete Custom Definitions
From the “Mail-pieces” tab, select the Custom Definition you want to delete from the “Select Label” drop-down list-box and right-click.
The “Save” command button will say “Delete” until you make a change.
Click “Delete” to eliminate the Custom Definition.
Custom Definition Parameters
Sizes are in thousands of an inch. For example 1 inch is 1000 while 1 and 1/2 inches is 1500.
Form Size:
Think of the form as the paper size unless it is a pin-fed label. If the paper stock is letter size, “Height” is 11000 and the “Width” is 8500 or 11 inches by 8.5 inches.
Even if the paper is a tray-fed form having 14 labels, the “Form Size” is the size of the form sheet, not the label.
Pin Fed labels are a little different. The form height is label height plus any spacing between labels or if you prefer the measurement between labels.
Width is the actual paper width minus tractor edges.
When working with form labels, refer to manufacturer's specifications.
Sheet Specification:
If the paper stock is a single mail piece, letter or card, then "Cols" and "Rows" “Number” are both 1 and "Spacing" is 0 for both.
If the paper stock is a Tray Fed form label, then "Cols" and "Rows" are the “Number” of columns and rows on a sheet. If there are spaces between rows and columns, enter those values in "Spacing" under the appropriate "Cols" and "Rows" column in thousandths of an inch.
If this is a Pin Fed label, "Rows" “Number” is always 1 and "Cols" “Number” is the number of columns. If there are spaces between rows and columns, enter those values in "Spacing" under the appropriate "Cols" and "Rows" column.
Address Location:
Enter in thousandths of an inch the lower (Lower Y) left (Left X) corner of the IMb bar-code. Mail carriers have unanimously preferred the IMb bar-code below the address for legibility. The address and recipient are properly spaced and sized above the bar-code meeting USPS DMM specifications for the purpose of maximizing deliverability.
Print Margin Specifications:
This is important for Tray Fed label forms and is the “Top”, “Left”, “Right” and “Bottom” perimeter spacing around the labels in thousandths of an inch.
Misc. Options:
Checkbox options allow you to show “Rounded” edges on Form Labels, a "Permit Imprint" or "Return Address".
Return Address:
Only if there is a "Return Address" will the fields in the last block be enabled.
"Min X" and "Min Y" is the space above and to the left of the "Return Address" in thousandths of an inch.
"Name" and "Address" are what will appear on every mail-piece.
"Font" exists for both the "Name" and the "Address". For a list of font names use "Control Panel" --> "Fonts".
