The NCOALink® (National Change of Address) process is a USPS® licensed system designed to update your mailing lists when customers, families, or businesses move.

How NCOALink® Works

The NCOALink® process identifies and updates outdated addresses through secure, USPS-certified matching technology:

  1. CASS™ / DPV® Pre-Processing
    Before any change-of-address matching begins, all records are CASS™ standardized and DPV® validated to confirm that each address is deliverable and correctly formatted.

  2. Change-of-Address Matching
    Each validated record is securely matched against the USPS NCOALink® database, which contains name and address change data for individuals, families, and businesses that filed official USPS COA forms.

  3. Updated Address Return
    When a match is found, the system returns both the old (original) and new (forwarding) addresses, along with standardized match codes, move types, and move effective dates.

  4. Non-Match Reporting
    Records that do not match are returned with USPS standard return codes and detailed reporting for review.

  5. Processing Summary Report (PSR)
    After every job, EZ24x7 generates a USPS-required Processing Summary Report that identifies your list, statistics, and the compliance details of the NCOALink® process.
